The first Register of Electors for the Seanad Éireann Higher Education constituency was produced on 1 April 2025. Following the signing of the Seanad Electoral (University Members) (Amendment) Act 2024 into law, the new constituency includes Irish citizens who are over eighteen years of age and hold a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from a designated institution. A full list of the designated institutions is available here. There are a total of 62,775 electors on this Register of Electors.

A copy of the register will be available for inspection at the offices of the National University of Ireland.

There is a prescribed fee (€100) for purchasing a copy of the register. The information contained in the register can only be used for an electoral or other statutory purpose.

Update my Details
  
You can update or make an amendment to your entry in the Register of Electors for the Higher Education constituency by completing a Claim for Correction of Entry Form.

Electors List
  
The first Electors List for the Seanad Éireann Higher Education constituency was produced on 29 January 2026.

The Electors List includes:
  • List A: The current Seanad Éireann Higher Education constituency register of electors, which was produced on 1 April 2025.
  • List B: Persons who have applied and appear to be eligible to be added to the register of electors when it is updated on 1 June.
  • List C: Persons who no longer appear to be entitled to be registered as electors, including the recently deceased.
The Electors List will be available for inspection by appointment at the offices of the National University of Ireland during office hours. Appointments can be made to view the register from Monday to Friday, between 9.30 am and 4.00 pm.
